Gary Antonacci will explain the origins and history of momentum-based investing. He will show why momentum is called “the premier anomaly” and describe how momentum is most commonly used although it is not the best approach. He will discuss the hidden risks associated with momentum and other factors. Using easily understood examples and historical research findings, he will show how relative-strength momentum with indexes enhances investment returns, while trend-following absolute momentum dramatically decreases portfolio risk exposure. He will show how both forms of momentum can be used effectively as dual momentum.
