Sustainable & Responsible Investing
Announcements:
- For our chapter meeting, we will meet in the fellowship hall on the ground floor of Fairmont United Methodist Church near NC State. For parking and building entry instructions, see location details below.
- We have four Special Interest Groups/get-togethers that meet monthly. Please see the Chapter Information web page for more details.
There has been a lot of information and misinformation related to responsible investing over the past few years. From ESG (environmental, social, and governance) to “woke investing,” opponents have branded the practice a money-losing, tree-hugging distraction. At the same time, proponents and practitioners have continued to gather assets that focus on the next economy and risk mitigation.
You will hear from Peter Krull, the 2024 InvestmentNews ESG/Responsible Investing Advisor of the Year1 discussing the realities of responsible investing, how such a portfolio is created, and the sectors and industries that are leading us to a cleaner, more resource efficient, more resilient and more equitable economy.
What you will learn:
- An overview of the difference between ESG and sustainable investing
- How to tell a greenwashed portfolio from a truly sustainable one
