2023 Tax Outlook


Presenter: Scott Hensley, attorney, CPA, and Tax Partner

Scott will present his assessment of recent changes to the federal tax code and his observations on potential future changes to that code.

Scott will discuss:

  • The most significant changes to the federal tax code for individual investors.
  • Appropriate actions individual investors should take.
  • Tax timelines for individual investors.

About Our Speaker

Scott joined Stancil & Co in 2004 and focuses in the Firm’s tax compliance and tax planning services. Scott concentrates in the planning and preparation of Corporation, S-Corporation and Partnership income tax returns and their effects on the owners. Before Stancil, Scott worked in the tax department for PricewaterhouseCoopers for five years serving a number of middle market businesses in Eastern North Carolina. He was the tax manager for Stock Building Supply, a national retailer of building supplies. Drawing upon his private sector experience, Scott thinks of his clients as business partners as he provides business advice as well as tax advice.

Scott is an active member of the Triangle Red Cross Board and the Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. He also participated as a consultant to businesses through the Business Accelerator for Sustainable Entrepreneurship Program with the University of North Carolina School of Business.

Scott is a graduate of North Carolina State University and The John Marshall Law School. Scott is a licensed attorney in the State of North Carolina and a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. He currently resides in North Raleigh with his wife, Sheila, and their three children, sons Sterling and Stone, and daughter Sierra.
